My great grandfather, Thomas Price, was born and baptized in Kilmacduagh in 1859. Would I be safe in assuming that his baptism would have taken place in this church?
I recently reached out to the parish of Gort where they affirmed that he was indeed baptized there, but when I asked if the church that he was baptized in still existed they responded by saying, "...the Church in Tierneevin/Kilmacduagh wasn't built then to my knowledge."
Given that information I would assume that this would be the church and according to this chronicle it was indeed erected prior to his baptism.
I am hoping for a visit sometime next year with my siblings and our spouses and will surely visit here just to know that he and his family had worshipped there.
Many thanks,
Barbara
