Mary Carrick Moylan was married to Thomas Moylan and lived in Claregalway Ireland (county Galway, Townland Kiltrough). (her D.O.B. unknown).
She birthed 8 children, 7 who lived to adulthood. Her first son was born in 1864, William. Then came the rest; Patrick (died in childhood), Nora, Mary, Bee (Brigid), John, Malachy, and Michael.
One by one all her children left Ireland and immigrated to USA and settled in Chicago IL. Mary, widowed, stayed in Ireland for a time till her own widowed mother passed away (Mary Carrick) and then she made the journey with her son John, to Chicago to live with her Daughter Bee, and then later with daughter Mary till the end of her days.
William lost a leg working on the Chicago Railroad and lived in a boarding house in Chicago. Nora, Mary, Bee (known as Bess on census records), and Michael, Married and had children whose decendants reside in USA ( many still in Chicago area. John's fate is unknown. He was likely the blacksheep of the family and may have succumbed to alcoholism or prison. He does not show up in Chicago Census records beyond a certain point. Malachy joined the British army to fight the boar war - much to the disapproval of his family. The Irish should not be helping the English! A record of a M. Moylan in the royal regiment of Fusiliers was found- seriously wounded in South Africa but recovered and died in India. His family never knew what his fate was.
