Thomas Power : Short Biography

I have two families coming to Massachusetts from Stradbally about that same time. One is John Power, his wife Ellen Flynn and five children. The other is Patrick Powers, his wife Margaret Lynch and seven children. I have a lead on John's parents as being Patrick Power (1778) and his wife Ellen McGrath. I have a lead on Ellen's parents as being Michael Flynn (1775-1873) and his wife Mary Ellen Power (1780). I have a lead on Patrick's parents as being Jeffrey Powers and his wife Alice. I have a lead on Margaret's parents as being John Lynch (1780) and his wife Mary Desmond. These leads are not confirmed, although I have done some searching and have my hopes. All of these people are from around the city of Waterford and most from Stradbally. I do wish you well and hope some of this may help in your search. Edwin sorry it has taken so long to get back to you.

 

I can tell you my great grandparents Thomas Power B 1816 and Hanora Behan  B 1821 and son James B 1841 came to Renfrew County in Ontario Canada c 1842 from Stradbally Parish in County Waterford.  I believe Thomas’ parents were James Power and Ellen Meaney. Thomas’ brother Edward and wife Ellen Behan came to Canada c the same time. 

I can probably fill in a bit more info for time in Canada if interested.
