Hi there -I have just discovered your site, and am excited about joining. I live in Australia and visited oldcastle, county Meath 2 years ago trying to add to knowledge of ancestors. At the cemetery at Loughcrew ( im not sure this is the name of it) but there is a lovely old building there which was set up for a wedding when we visited...the graveyard is behind it. Firstly if you can let me know the name of the cemetery that will give me a start. Also there are some headstones that I can link to family, but I am totally puzzled by the one in the picture attached, re Michael and Rose Fagan. I have had no luck finding anything about this Michael in Findmy Past or ancestry. It reads " erected by James Fagan and Catherine alias McGuire of Newcastle in memory of his father Michael Fagan who died October 6 1779 aged 83 his mother Rose died May 21 178.. Also his brother Laurence Fagan husband to the above Catherine he died July AD 1783 (?) aged 36" One would think with all this info I could track down more, but I'm hitting brick walls. Admittedly I'm fairly new to this family history stuff, so maybe some of you can give me tips. I've searched for James and Laurence as well, assuming they were born 1720-1750, and around Oldcastle/Loughcrew, but no luck to date.
