Hugh Egan was married to Mary Jordan/Egan and and are from the Offaly County/West Meath border in Ireland. Very little is known about Hugh Eagan and Mary Jordan individually other than the fact that it is believed that they lived in Ireland approximately until the potato famine struck in the 1840’s. They then brought the family to NYC where they lived the rest of their life. They had at least 5 children described below as Brigid, William, Hugh, Michael John and Dorothy Eagan. An 1860 census in NYC also shows Hugh and Mary Jordan Egan living with 3 children including Hugh, Michael and Dorothy.
