Hello - My grandmother was Lucy Oates (nee Lavin) of Kilmore, born June 27, 1901, as Louise Anne Oates, but later called Lucy. She married Michael Oates on July 3, 1900.
Her Parents were Lucy (born at Tully Kilmore on April 29, 1867) and Bartholomew Lavin of Kilmore.
I'm thinking they must be related, as it is a very small area???

There are loads of Lavins in Roscommon going back in time. Do you know who Bartholomew's parents were?
I've seen the name online, but found not connection to me, as yet.
Will have another look.

There seem to be quite a few Bartholomews, including one born 1786.
I can't see a connection as yet. B & L are not immediate family names to me. What other Christian names dominate your tree?
