Does anyone have any information or photos relating to the early history of the school, please?
I understand the school was established in 1857 and the first principal was a 26 year old Michael Delahunt who had a yearly salary of £4 per annum. I am keen to understand if Michael Delahunt was my gg grandfather, Michael Delahunt(y) who was a teacher, living 2.5km away from Clonlisk in Glasshouse in 1857 and by early 1860s was living in Clonlisk.

Noel has written extensively . . of the local history of Shinrone / Clonlisk / Glasshouse . . in at least two publications ( extensive photo material ). . .

In the past few years .. a " Michael Delahunt(y) .. passed away .. from that region ...
His .. recording of Graveyards/Headstones .. was his lifelong hobby .. in the full area of North Co.Tippetary
His memory was amazing .. and many people found their relations thru.him ...
Sadly. he is gone now ..BUT .. his living room ( I've been there .. while searching ) is (was) crammed with his research ...
His wife is still in residence .. and a Son .. is ( ??? ) taking an interest ..
He ... could be related to you ...
