Hello! I think it likely we have a family connection. My Glasheens come from the same Irish parish and end up in a similar area of Massachusetts. Do you know anything about Michael John Glasheen's family? I wonder whether he may be a brother or half brother to John Glasheen, son of Martin and Margaret (Leamy) Glasheen. John and his wife Winnie arrived with their family in the US on May 21, 1850 and settled in Hubbardston, Templeton and Fitchburg.
Thomas is my great great grandfather. He was born in Limerick on August 24, 1834. He was baptized in the parish of Pallasgrean and Templebredin. He arrived in New York City on May 21, 1850. He established his American life in Templeton, Massachusetts. His father, Michael John Glasheen, emigrated with Thomas, lived in his household, and passed away on Sept. 9, 1877. Thomas and his wife Mary had four sons and one daughter. He passed away on Dec. 1, 1896 in Leominster, Massachusetts.
Research provide by the Limerick Regional Archives and the Ireland Catholic Parish Registers, 1655-1915.

I have found no connection between Michael John and John. Michael John is my GGG grandfather. I was born and raised in Leominster and did a lot of hands on data collection in Worcester County while I lived there. I never did find a connection, but my suspicion is that they are brothers. Over the years, I have started 11 other Glasheen trees, with the oldest person born before 1820. I cannot relate any one to the other. The fire at the Irish National Archives did us no favors. Also, the proliferation of same names - Michael, John, Martin, Catherine, etc., can cause confusion.
if you find a connection between Michael John and John, I would appreciate a shout out.
Ironically,
Michael John Glasheen
