Migrated to/Born in Australia

George Pickens and Jane Roper migrated to Australia aboard the Chowringhee, with four children. One child died at sea, probably from typhus, and another child, Joseph, was born at sea. They arrived in Melbourne in 1852 and settled in Shepherds Flat near the Jim Crow diggings.
