My 2nd great grandmother was from Glenvar, Donegal. Possibly from Bunnaton. She was born about 1850, immigrated to Pennsylvania in the 1860's where she married my 2nd great grandfather m, Michael Kane from Limerick.
I'm trying to figure out which family she was from. There are 3 Gallaghers listed in Bunnaton records.
there is a John Gallaher in the 1820 tithe book.
In the 1901 census there is a James Gallagher in Bunnaton born 1941 in Donegal, wife Annie born 1946 in Donegal, and daughter Hannah born 1884 in Newark New Jersey USA (the family was there in and 1885 New Jersey census).
Then in the 1911 census James is no longer there in Bunnaton. Instead, there is a Charles Gallagher b 1838 wife Giley b 1841, son Hugh b 1891.
does anyone know anything more about any of these Gallaghers from Bunnaton?

Dave:
I'm not familiar with Glenvar. Bunnaton is in Clondavaddog civil parish. We have a volunteer who covers Clondavaddog parish. Give him some time to look at your query.

Hi Dave Kane,
I am glad to see you have posted this up on the Friends of Glenvar Facebook page. To be honest Dave this might be the only way that someone might be able to help you in regards to this query. The timeframe that you are looking at is the 1850’s and the records such as Baptism and Marriage are not available to help to in this regard. I remeber you have a good knowledge of local locations from previous posts also. I will get this post moved to the Clondavaddog page as the Parsih of Kilmacrennan you mistakenly posted it to will cause confusion.
I am attaching the relevant Gallagher and McMonigle family posts that you received help with already and for anyone checking out the Friends of Glenvar facebook page the dates that you posted material on that page also
I dont think I can add or help you much more and wish you luck with whatever local feedback you can get from the facebook page..
Kindest regards
Seamus Callaghan
