David Powers was born in Limerick around 1831. He immigrated to the US about 1849, landing in Boston, MA. He was immediately hired by the railroad and eventually settled in Urbana, OH where he met his wife Mary Shea, they married in 1855. David died in Urbana, OH in 1915, his death certificate listed his parents as Patrick Powers and Bridget Dawson. He did have a brother named William who ended up in Chicago, IL, and possibly another brother named James who also lived in Urbana, OH.
