I did not find a good lead on a death record for Alice.

We only have access to civil records as follows on the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie  births thru 1920, marriages thru 1945 and deaths thru 1970. Likely Margaret died post 1970. We won't find the birth records for John and Bridget's children since post-1920 and their marriage records would be post 1945.

Hi Roger,

I've not had any success over the past months in getting conecting to the Marie Prendergast you mentioned above. Did this Marie marry a Prendergast? And if so, do you know whom she married?

Since was last corresponded in May, I believe I found another Marie Prendergast (not the same one) who was the daughter of John Prendergast and Bridget Forristal and the sister to John (I believe born in April 1930) and Paddy (I believe born in April 1935).

John married a Claire Hannigan (who died on October 25, 2017----I cannot locate her birth date). I know from Claire's obituary in Kilkenny People that they had three children Dermot, Cora and Orla.

Paddy married a woman by the first name of Clare (I have a couple letters Clare wrote to my mother when my mother was alive but Clare's maiden name is not mentioned). I do not know if Paddy and Clare had any children.

So any help you can provide me in finding additonal information about both Marie Prendergasts' and Claire (nee Hannigan) Prendergast and Clare (nee??) Prendergast is very much appreciated.

As a side note, I have researched and found much information on other Irish families of mine in Conmys, Clearys, McGrath's, and Conways and on my wife's Irish families of Dalys, Deegans, Finleys and Clarks. It is a great journey to be on.

My Great Grand Father was Michael Prendergast of Ballyshane Inistioge Kilkenny. He died 15th July 1923.

I believe Bridget Forristal Prendergast is in the same gaveyard at St.Mary's Cemetery in Inistioge Kilkenny. There are pictures of the gaves.

Michael's mother was Mary Malone and his wife was Hanora McGrath. I saw you said you have some MacGraths

This information about the Prendergasts, Malones, Kellys and Forristals is very helpful. I have a lot to sort through as I confirm the exact connections to my Prendergast family ancestry. It does appear that Michael Prendergast is somehow connected to my Kilkenny Prendergast family, as is Mary Malone.

I need to find Michael's connection mto my family, if there is one.

My Malone relatives I have found to date are:

Alice Malone (born 26 December 1870; died 11 September 1929) who married Richard J Forristal (born 19 January, 1867; died 17 January 1903), and Joseph Malone who I believe was Alice's father. Mary may be related to Alice and/or Joseph?

I continue to try to find the children of John Prendergast and Bridget Forristal with no success to date. I believe they may be sons John (who married a Claire?) and Patrick (who married a Clare and often wrote to my now deceased mother Peg; last letter I have is dated February 8, 2008; Clarre Prendergast sent it from Kilmacshane, Thomastown, Kilkenny) born in the 1930s. 

And I am still trying to find my family connection to Marie Prendergast.

Am I correct in my understanding that John Prendergast married Claire (nee Hannigan) and their three children are Orla, Cora and Dermot? What more can you tell me about their family? I understand Claire passed away in October, 2017. Do you know when and where she was born? When and where John was born and passed away? 

Can you tell me more about Paddy and Marie's family? Her maiden name and their childrens' names? Dick and Nuala's family? Her maiden name and their childrens' names? Margaret and Billy's last name? Bridget and Michael's family, his last name and their child"s name? And your mother and father, his last name and your sibling's name?

I believe you and I are related. My grandfather is William Prendergast, who emigrated to the United States in !915, married Hannah Conmy, and had two sons, John (my father, born in 1927, passed away in 1993) and William, my uncle. I believe your grandfather is John Prendergast and that William and John were brothers.
