My Great grandfather William Clarke came to Melbourne Victoria Australia in 1866 on the Golden Sea. He moved to Geelong where he met & married another Irish woman Anne Bryan. They moved with Anne's family to Molesworth Victoria in 1876 and stayed there for the rest of their life. They are buried in the nearby Cathkin cemetery where William was a trustee. William was a wheelwright and became a butcher in Molesworth. The Bryan family had farms there and possibly supplied the meat for his butchers shop.

William and Anne had two sons and 3 daughters. Many hundreds of descendents now live in Victoria and a few in other states of Australia.

William was a son of Robert Clarke and Ann Martha Chambers of Dunmanway, Cork Ireland. Robert's parents were Goodhand Clarke and Barbara Pattison Some of this family stayed in Ireland, Most went to the USA. A few went to Australia & New Zealand.
