John Kirby (b. circa 1840) lived in Moss Street, Dublin and was a soap and candle maker. His parents were Jeremiah and Elizabeth and lived in Phibbsborough, Dublin.
In 1863 he married Eliza Dorman in Booterstown. Later that year they went to New York, USA. By July 1864 they had moved to the town of Dalton, Massachusetts.
They returned to Dublin in 1865/6 whe John got a job in the stores department of the Dublin & Kingstown Railway.
He died in 1869 and was burried in Glasnevin Cemetery.
His wife Eliza and the 3 children moved to London.
John death announcement in 1869 alluded to family in Australia.
