William McDaid was born in County Donegal about 1831 according to the 1861 Scotland Census. He married a Scottish woman, Mary Stephenson (Stevenson), in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, on January 24, 1856. From his death record, I know his father was Alexander McDaid and his mother's maiden name was Gillespie. I do not know any family members except for he and Mary's children.
