William McClure was born in County Armagh, Ireland on July 11, 1847. He came to York County, Pennsylvania, USA in March of 1869.
In December of 1869 he joined his brother, John McClure in Kansas, USA. He lived there until 1874 when he went to California returning to Kansas in 1877. William McClure joined the Presbyterian Church in 1869 and the United Brethren Church in 1893.
In 1877 he married Miss Emmie GEST. They had two sons, Lewis and John William McClure. In 1887 his wife Emmie died.
On February 13 1889 William McClure married Sarah Jennie GLENN. They had a daughter, Flossie, [Mrs. Wm. Edwards].
William McClure died at Rock Creek, Jefferson County, Kansas on March 6, 1911. The funeral was held at Rock Creek, Kansas on March 11, 1911.
He was buried at Valley Falls Cemetery, Valley Falls, Jefferson County, Kansas, USA. [See Find A Grave].
