Charles Egan was the sun of Michael Egan and Margaret Mahon, grandson of James Egan and Mary Kelly, and James Mahon and Mary Mulvihill. He was born 4 DEC 1905, at Bolag, Woodford. At age 19, he left Woodford and sailed off to NY, USA, arriving there on the ship Republic in May of 1925. He listed his father, Michael Egan of Bolag, Woodford, Ireland as his next of kin in his home country on the ship's manifest. Charles went on to marry Margaret O'Neill, and they had a son Charles, Jr. After his wife's death, he married his 2nd wife, Kathleen.
