Thomas Egan was the son of Michael Egan and Margaret Mahon of Bolag, Woodford. He left Woodford in 1929 and sailed out of Cobh on the ship Washington headed for NY, NY USA. He arrived there on 17 May 1920 to join up with his brothers John and Charles who had arrived there a few years earlier. Like his brothers, he became a naturalized citizen of the US in 1933. He married Winnifred T Henehan on 12 Nov 1941 in New York city. Thomas and Winnie had two daughters (still living).
