Daniel McKnight Born in 1793 was a Shoemaker living on main street in 1837.Died in 1881. wife Margret Cleary Died 1864 both are Buried in Rathkeal.They had 5 children. John,James ,Patrick. Daughters Mary and Margret.Sons Patrick and James immigrated to Canada in 1851 to Canada West (Ontario).James would be about 11 years old and Patrick 19.Have info on lives in Canada.Im decended from Patrick who married Mary Lynum.Im SEarching for Daniel McKnights Parents and Wifes Parents.

Additional Info on Patrick and James In the 1861 Canada Census Patricks date of Birth was August 1839,James Birthday.Patrick had taken James Birhday has is own.All of his records in Canada including his death certificate say he was born in August 1839.Where the real Patrick was Havnt found out yet.Interesting note,Do not have a Photo of Patrick but a description of what he looked like.Feb of 1870 he was covicted of Larceny and got 2 Years Hard Labour in KIngston Penitentary.From the punishment book Prison Number 3434, Patrick McKnight 5ft 4in. Fair Skin, Blue eyes, Brown Hair Sentence 2 years HARD LABOUR.Married,Irish, Catholic,Read,No, Write no.The event was news in Ottawa and Reported in paper,His crime was he had stolen 4 chickens and 2 sacks of buckweat flour and got caught selling them.When sentenced was finished he returned to his family in Ottawa and worked in cities water dept untill he died in hospital from Cancer of the face in 1925.Have info on all of his decendence if it can be of help to anyone.

Barbara,Dont have DNA on Gedmatch yet.I use Ancestry Library Edition from Public Library.If you go to Griffins Valuations 1850.There are two Households in Askeaton Parish.Daniel my Great Great Great Grandfather.and wife Margret Cleary and 5 Children.Living on Main Street working as a Shoe maker.Around the corner living on Muscle Lane was his brother Murice and wife Margret Oneill and 6 children. He worked at willsons Nursery.There are other McKnights living in other Parishs.Invernus ,Richard McKnight-Margret McKnight-James McKnight- Charles McKnight.Kilcoran Parish, William McKnight-John McKnight-James McKnight.Thats were I belive but not yet certain where most of my Ancesters came From.Daniel and wife never left both died in Ireland.Some of children immigrated. Murice and wife Margret Oneill both died in Ireland.Some of Children Immigrated.Have Birthdays of all children in both families and workin g from them to seek out Ancesters.Griffins RATHKEAL UNION.Please let me Know if this helps.Happy Christmas and A Happy New Year from Canada.
