John Kennedy (1898-1922) is the son of Thomas Kennedy (1872-1950) and Julia Wogan (1876-1945). Thomas and Julia Kennedy and their family of 13 children were parishioners of St Andrews Church, Westland Row, Dublin. John Kennedy was a sergeant in the National Army. On June 28,1922, John Kennedy ran to St Marys Pro Cathedral during a lull in the fighting to get married to Mary Douglas. He returned to duty and was fatally wounded.
