Denis/Dennis Murphy : Short Biography

Army Record booklet states:

Enlisted into 70th Foot Regiment on the 28th Dec 1842 at Youghal in the County of Cork at age 18.

years, trade being put as Labourer, and a sister called Bridgit? listed a nearest of kin.

The record gives not other info on date of birth etc, and no further records can be found until it is noted in the Army record that he

arrived in Calcutta, India with the army in 1850. From that date we have records of Denis/Dennis (Can not confirm name as both given).
