I have looked at the buildings entered in Ireland XO and found that Rathkeale workhouse took inmates from Croom. Then Croom workhouse was built & started taking inmates in 1850. I surmise that what happened was when daughter Margaret embarked the Maria as an Irish orphan in 1850 she was not to know her mother would've moved workhouses to the new one. Hopefully she eventually found that out!

Johanna had at least one child, Margarita (Margaret), by Johannis (John) Myres, baptised RC 6th June 1832 in Croom, Limerick. No evidence she ever married Myres, after an extensive search of marriage records. At the time her daughter was shipped off to Sydney as an Irish orphan, it was stated that her mother was in "Rathkeile Union". (Presumably meaning a workhouse.) She seems to have taken up with John Reordon/Riordan who was stated in the orphan records to be Margaret's deceased father. Poverty relief loans show John to be in bad circumstances, behind in his payments. He must have been dead by the time step-daughter Margaret departed Ireland 1850 for Sydney.
Johanna McInerney likely informally took on John Reardon's surname and lived with him.

Johanna's probable death (the most likely candidate) is in rootsireland.ie, copyright Limerick Genealogy, accessed @ Family Connections 13th May 2017: Johanna Reordan died aged 60, bronchitis, 23 Feb 1867 in Croom, Croom workhouse as a widow, Labourer, female.
