Looking for any connections to James Brereton, born about 1795 in Beaugh, Offaly. The 1821 Irish census lists his father Robert, age 60, living at household #9 in Beaugh, Roscomroe, County Offaly with sons, William (b. 1787), age 34, and James, age 23. James Brereton married Margaret “Peg” Delaney (1795-1865) on February 6, 1826. The witnesses to their marriage were Larry Delany and John Dooley. Their marriage is recorded in the “Roscrea and Kyle Parish Marriages” register maintained by the Roman Catholic diocese of Killaloe. I believe that James Brereton died in Ireland sometime before 1861. My first Brearton (note spelling change in the US) immigrants to the United States were Peg Delany Brereton, the widow of James Brereton, Sr., and five of their children: Martin (1831-1896), Mary (1833-1905), Lawrence (1835-1906), James (1839-1894) and Thomas (1840-1894). There may have been two additional children: John (b. 1834) and Michael, baptized at the Roman Catholic Church in Roscomroe on April 13, 1835. I was unable to find additional information regarding John and Michael.
Lawrence Brereton arrived in the United States in 1854, settling in Troy, New York. According to oral family history, the remaining brothers emigrated together in 1857 and later sent for their sister and mother. If that’s true, Martin would have been 26, Lawrence 22, James 18 and Thomas 17 when they arrived. They then sent for their mother and sister and her family. All are documented as living in Troy by 1861.
Thanks for any assistance!

Jude:
I saw this message after I responded to your other message. The RC parish of Kinnitty does not have death records pre-1864. Civil registration of deaths started in 1864.
I looked for a marriage and death records for John and Michael but did not find any good leads. The 1901 census for Beagh townland did not have a Brereton family.
