Only one record has been found that indicates the age of Jeremiah Moore. The 1840 census for Rochester, Monroe, New York, puts his age in the range 1800-1810. He is listed next to George Moore. In the Rochester City directory, they are listed at the same address. We have been unable to prove that they are related. There was an area in Rochester called "99 cousins" comprised of many families from Cork. Jeremiah and George did not live in that area.

Jeremiah was married to Martha Morgan 7 Feb 1839 by a traveling Methodist Wesleyan minister George Park. On the same day using the same witnesses, Joseph Moore was married to Catherine Morgan. The two Moore's appear to be brothers as they are connected to the same parcel of land. The initial thought was that the two Morgan's were sisters. However, Catherine's sister Martha married John Newman, Jr. on 10 Oct 1838 and the couple were still together at the time of Jeremiah's wedding. The two witnesses for the Moore/Morgan wedding were Samuel Newman and John Morgan. The witnesses for Catherine's sister were Samuel and John Newman.

Jeremiah's first child was Richard Morgan Moore born 4 Jan 1840, Cavan, Canada West. The second child, Esther Moore was born 1842 in Rochester, Monroe, New York. Their third child Eliza Jane was born 31 Oct 1844, Cavan, Canada.

There is an allegation that the Joseph Moore born 6 March 1844 in Emily, Canada to a Jeremiah Moore and Martha Morgan is also their child. If this is true, then the birth date for either Joseph or for Eliza is wrong. No further record of Joseph has been located. The 1851 Canadian census for Cavan is missing.

Jeremiah died before 6 March 1854 when he is referred to in a land transaction as being deceased by Martha who had remarried to a man with the surname of Reycraft.

Y-DNA testing for three male descendants of Richard Morgan Moore, Jeremiah's only documented son, all match to the family of John Moore born between 1770-1775 in County Cork, Ireland. He and his wife Martha Skuce were from the relatively small communities of Methodists living in southern County Cork, Ireland. Descendants of Jeremiah have many atDNA matches to the descendants of other Methodist families from Kilgarriff Parish, Clonakility, Schull, Skibbereen, Bandon. These relationships are usually predicted to be closer than is possible based on documented trees due to the intermarriage of these families in Ireland and later in Canada over more than 100 years
