Patrick married Elizabeth Kinsella (m. UNK); children were James (b. Patrick, his wife, and at least several of his children migrated to the USA during and shortly after the potato famine, initially living in Troy, New York for a few years and finally settling in Chicago. Patrick died in 1866 and is buried in Calvalry Catholic Cemetery in Evanston, Illinois, USA.
