Patrick, his wife, and at least several of his children migrated to the USA during and shortly after the potato famine, initially living in Troy, New York for a few years and finally settling in Chicago. Patrick died in 1866 and is buried in Calvalry Catholic Cemetery in Evanston, Illinois, USA.
