John Plant is my 3x grandfather. John was born 1819-1820, I do not have the location born but most likely in County Kildare. He died on May 6, 1874 in Naas, Kildare. He married Eliza Neil, date unknown. I have not found her birth date nor her date of death. John and Eliza had 4 children: Robert born 1836 in Naas, died July 2, 1916 in Arrat, Victoria, Australia; Eliza born June 7, 1840 in Nass, died Aug 21, 1882 in Horsham, Victoria, Australia; Thomas born June 14, 1844 died April 13, 1913 in Naas; and John Plant (my 2x grandfather) born 1847 died July 1, 1919 in Naas. The 3 boys were first baptized ias Protestant in the church of Ireland but later baptized as Catholic on August 7, 1859 in Naas according to the church record. The dayghter, Eliza was baptized Catholic after birth.
John Plant (2x grandfather) married Mary (Maria) Fitzpatrick September 28, 1869 in Newbridge, Kildare. They had 5 children: John (1870-1922), Mary (1872-1903), Patrick (1874-1943), Elizabeth (Lizzie) 1877-1918 (my great grandmother) and Esther (1879-1953). Elizabeth (my great-grandmother) married Thomas McCormack (1875-1939) on January 28, 1896 in Naas. Thomas McCormack and Elizabeth Plant married January 28, 1896 in Naas, Kildare.They had 6 children: William John (1897-1954) (my grandfather), Patrick (1899-1969), Johnny (1901-1920), Thomas James (1903-1962), James (1906-1976) and Mary (Molly) 1909-1927). William John my grandfather is the only one who left Ireland and came to Canada in 1927.
