John Anderson was born in 1731 in Ahoghill Parish, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He married Elizabeth Wilson, also from Ahoghill Parish, County Antrim. They married in Antrim county and had one son John, prior to emigrating to the American Colonies in 1765. He resided in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County Pennsylvania and had 6 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 14th of February, 1814 in Washington Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and is buried in Poke Run Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
