Peter Carlin : Short Biography

Peter CARLIN, was born in Cookstown, [County Tyrone?], Ireland in 1822. He came to the United States at the age of 9 and went to Wisconsin, USA, where he lived with his uncle until 1848. He got married. In 1861.

He moved to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, where he worked in the tavern business.  At the time of the Civil War, he enlisted in Battery, Co "I" [Rickett's] where he served until 1865. He later served on the local School Committee.
