I hope to find the birth record of my great grandfather Owen Mulcare who emigrated to the US around 1865-1870. His family was from Killea townland, Croagh or Rathkeale in Limerick. Any help would be appreciated.
Born about 1819. Married to Mary Stokes. Farmed with son James Mulcair in Killea, Croagh, Limerick.
Eight children. Five emigrated. Three - Hanora, Mary and Margaret, were nuns at Notre Dame in Indiana. Catherine married Patrick Quinlan in Indiana. Son Owen married Margaret O’Keefe and farmed in Lebanon, Missouri. Ellen never married and lived in Croagh. No info on Thomas
Died in Killea. April 22, 1896. Buried in Bohernakill cemetery near Adare.
Grandson Fr Michael Mulcair, son of James, was vice president of Notre Dame University.
