Migrated to/Born in USA
Katherine Hackett was born May 1842 (according to 1900 USA Census; there are a number of errors with this entry, so the date may be inaccurate), daughter (according to her NY death certificate) of Patrick Hackett and Bridget Tobin. Her obituary (The Standard Union, 20 Jun, 1927) states that she was a native of Ballylemon in Co. Waterford. I do not have the name of her husband (who predeceased her), but it is possible that he may also have been surnamed Hackett, as Katherine is recorded as "widow" under that name in several censuses; conversely it may be possible that her maiden name was something other than Hackett and the information in her death record was in error.
