My 5th great grandfather is Captain John Blakeney. Anecdotal evidence says he was born 1 Oct 1732 at Mount Blakeney, Co. Limerick, Ireland. I can find no documentation to support this. There is documentation which shows he immigrated to North Carolina circa 1753.
