Stayed in Ireland
My Great Grandmother Julia Twomey was baptised in Boherbue, County Cork on 3-6-1858. Her parents were Jeremiah Twomey (born approx 1830s) and Mary Murphy. They lived in the Townland of Ballyhoolahan. Griffiths Valuation shows tenant Daniel Twomey, also Denis Murphy (Senior and Junior), Timothy and John Murphy in Ballyhoolahan. Julia's Godfather is recorded as John Murphy. The Baptism records show Julia (1858), then Timothy (1863), Michael (1867), Jeremiah (1870) and Honora (1873).
Julia Twomey migrated to Queensland Australia about 1876 to live with Timothy and Hannah Buckley who had also lived in Ballyhoolahan. Julia married John McCaul in Toowoomba, Queensland on 4-7-1880.
