I am researching Robert TAYLOR and Eleanor (var sp) CAMPBELL from Tullamore Parish. I have located Robert’s death date (1 Mar 1852) and their marriage (1818), but no other records for them.
The frustrating thing is that there are 73 public family trees on Ancestry which feature this couple and they have dates attributed to them but show no evidence. I know many people just copy form others so locating a person with sources would be difficult and I am not prepared to record information without the evidence.
The most popular date for Eleanor’s birth is 28 Apr 1795 and death 21 June 1832, burial at Tullamore?
Are the Tullamore Parish records available anywhere for searching?
Any help would be much appreciated thanks
Margaret

Margaret:
Tullamore Church of Ireland records are available on the subscription site Roots Ireland and go back to 1805. I located two baptismal records for children of Robert Taylor and Eleanor (no maiden name was shown which is typical of C of I records.).
George baptized November 1 1818
Jane baptized April 1 1821

Hi Roger
Thank you for your reply. I do have the baptisms of the children but am hoping to be able to find those of their parents which are prior to 1805, and also the burials.
I will have to wait and see if anyone has any further information

Margaret,
According to my guide to Church of Ireland records, Tullamore parish has baptisms from 1805, marriages from 1814 and burials from 1814. There are no earlier records anywhere, so it’s unlikely you will find anything showing the parents baptisms.
The originals are in the RCB library in Dublin and there’s a microfilm copy in the National Archives of Ireland in Dublin. Plus some of the records are on the rootsireland site. If you can’t find Eleanor (Ellen)'s burial on-line you might want to check the originals. In my experience, not every burial was recorded in Church of Ireland registers. Not really sure of the reason but they are often not complete. And of course sometimes people were buried in a different parish for various odd reasons.
If you are seeing pre 1805 baptism dates and death dates on other people’s trees, you could contact them and ask them what their evidence is. Occasionally dates of death can be obtained from things like gravestones, probate files, family letters or newspaper reports. So there may be a record. You would need to ask the providers of those dates.

Hi Elwyn
Thank you for your reply. at least I now hove something definite and will try and look for other sources. The problem with checking with the other tree owners us that there are so many who have all most likely copied from each other, without showing proof, that it is hard to know where rot start.
Thanks again
