He was baptized on 28 Jan 1746, Church of Ireland, Kilmore Parish, County Cavan. His father is listed on the baptismal record as William Lahy. His mother may have been Jane from Killawilly (now Killavalley) but I don't have a source for that. On the 1821 Ireland Census, he was 75, living with his oldest son, William (Sr.) and Fanny Wood in the townland of Mullaghboy, Ballymacue Parish, Barony of Clonmahon, County Cavan. He died and was buried on 26 Nov 1827. I have a photo of his burial record from the Parish church that was sent to me by David Leahy, a distant cousin and researcher of the Leahy/Lahy line.
