His parents were Cornelius Clanchy and Bridget Skully. He was born in Brackyle. He had 6 siblings that we know of - Owen, Dennis, John, Michael, Bridget and Catherine. (Bridget married John Mulloy c1861 in Pallasgreen. It is possible that their son James (Mulloy/Molloy) migrated to Victoria, Australia, married in 1912 to Jane Lavery and that he died in 1923 in Ouyen, Victoria.
Patrick married Hannah Ryan on 30 Jan 1845 in Pallasgreen. They had 3 children, Cornelius, 1846, Mary 1847 and Dennis 1849. The family migrated to Australia in 1850 but their son Cornelius was not with them. After living in Western Australia for a few years where they had 2 more children, they went to Victoria and settled in Campbells Creek in central Victoria and had 3 more children. Patrick worked as a labourer and selected 320 acres of land to farm, but died soon after. Their son Cornelius eventually went to Australia (but not known when) and no reference has been found for their son Dennis except the ship's records in 1850 and that he was deceased by the time his father died in 1874.
