Hello! I am looking for information on my Ryan clan in Ireland.

My GGG-Grandfather, Michael Ryan left Ireland and settled in the Rawdon area of Quebec around 1830-32. In 1838 he married there, and his record in the Drouin stated his "parents are John Ryan and Catherine Kelly (Killy?) of Emo, Queens County".

That is all I have connecting back to Ireland. Our family oral history hasl us from Kerry County. Now I'm wondering if we are actually part of the "Carlow Ryan's"? Or did John go to Laois for work or marriage? Pre-famine, did the Irish move around the counties?

I am guessing at birth years:

1790-1795 for John and Catherine, 1810-1815 for Michael.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!
