Thank you for this post. We are in search of the the family of Bridget Bray Cummings (estimated age at 1850 US census is 30yr). Bridget was born in Ireland, but that is where our knowledge stops. If the traditional naming convention was followed, her father might have been John and her mother might have been Elizabeth. Understanding how displacement might have affected this family is another piece to this deeply moving puzzle.
