Lavinia Leighton Boyd was born 29 Jan 1892 at Stradbally, Laois, Ireland.  Her parents are William John Boyd and Lavinia Leighton.  She immigrated to Canada in 1916.  She arrived in Montreal Quebec and later married a widower Amos James Alexander and had two children.  After he passed away she claimed she married George Reed but this would not be possible as he was previously married and abandoned the family without getting a divorce.  She had 13 children with George Reed and then he abandoned that family. Lavinia lived to 1962. She had three brothers who died in WWII - Samuel James bor 1887, Francis Henry b 1890, and Norman b 1899.  She also had a brother William Francis b 1889 who lived to 1976, and sisters Jane Annie who married John William McDowell and died in 1947, Emily Boyd b 1897 who married Joseph Delaney and died in 1991.
