BIRTH AND NAME
Mary Doran was born, per calculation from her husband's estimated year of and place of birth, about 1809 in Ballytarsna Townland in Abbeyleix Catholic and Civil Parishes, Queen's County, Ireland. The diocese was Kildare and Leighlin. Her name was reported on her only known child's baptismal record. As of 2021 her parents were unknown.
MARRIAGE
Mary Doran had a son, Richard, on July 4, 1847 with Martin Byrne, and probably other children as well. Richard's baptism was reported in a Roman Catholic parish record. Since no other children were known as of 2021, her year of marriage (1846 or before) was calculated based on Richard's year of birth. Her husband's name was recorded on a report of a lease for five acres of land and ownership of a house in Ballytarsna from the De Vesci Estate in 1850. Her son married Eliza Higgins and it is calculated that they settled on part of the leased land.
DEATH
Mary Doran Byrne died on October 12, 1879 in Ballytarsna Townland, Abbeyleix Catholic and Civil Parish, Queen's County, Ireland.
BURIAL
Speculation in 2021 was that she was buried in the Abbeyleix De Vesci Estate Church Cemetery (also known as the Demesne Graveyard) which lies a little southeast of Ballytarsna Townland. Burials of both Church of Ireland members and Roman Catholics took place there. The graveyard was situated on the land of the De Vescis and as of 2011 was owned by that family.
