Michael Lanigan is my 3 x great-grandfather, born circa 1797, and married my 3 x great-grandfather Johanna (Jane) Searson on the 12 June 1820 in Templemore, Tipperary.

His address at the time of marriage was Drom, and Johanna, Kilduff.

Michael and Johanna had seven children.

Catherine Lanigan 1829 - ?;

William Lanigan 1832 - 1907;

Martin Lanigan 1834 - ?;

Anne (Lanigan) O'Keefe 1837 - 1913;

James Lanigan 1839 - ?;

Michael passed away on 16 June 1872 in Clonboo, Moyne, Tipperary, and Johanna, possibly 1 August 1878 (not fully confirmed).

William is my 2 x great-grandfather and emigrated to Australia in about 1851 from Liverpool, arriving in Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

His sister Anne, also emigrated with him.

Both made their way to the goldfields around Aberfeldy in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range in the Gippsland region of Victoria.

Anne married Michael O'Keefe and they ran a pub in the goldfields.

My great-grandfather Patrick, was born on the goldfields.
