Hello. I am searching for Catherine Larkin born circa 1887, Kilcolgan, Kings Co (Offaly).  She is in the 1911 census as single and living with her brother Michael (born 1879) and her sister in law Catherine Curley (1880-1939).  In a family obituary in 1922 she is listed as Catherine Egan of Kilcolgan, Ferbane, Ireland. 
 

I am trying to locate any information on her and any of her family. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    I think Catherine was born May 1886, parents were Michael Larkin, father Michael, and Ann Lyon, father James, who were married in 1876 in Kilcolgan, Ferbane, Offaly.

    Her brother Michael was married in 1910. Unfortunately, the father's name was not included.

    I did not find a marriage record for Catherine.

  • Thank you.  I forgot to put Catherine’s parents as Thomas Larkin and Bridget Cleary.  
     

    Any idea which parish I can look for a marriage? Ferbane area.  They were Catholic

  • Hi Terri

    If you search the free site www.irishgenealogy,ie under Civil records you will find the record of marriage of Thomas Larkin and Bridget Cleary in Ferbane Roman Catholic Church on 16th February 1876.   I could find no record of a marriage for Catherine to and Egan from 1911 to 1922 on this site in the Ferbane area, or births of children to them.   Or a record of the death of Catherine Egan or Larkin in that area.  Perhaps Catherine moved away from Ferbane when she got married.  There is a record of the death of Kate Larkin (nee Curley I think) on 21st October 1939 aged 53 at Kilcolgan.
