My father Jeremiah O'Leary was 9th in a family of 12. He had eight brothers and three sisters.He was named after his paternal uncle Jeremiah(1875-1928) who lived in Bridgeport, Conn, U.S.A.
He was born the year the Titanic sank in1912.
He started school on May 11th 1921 aged 8. He received Confirmation in 1926 from Bishop O Brien.
He and his brother Pat went to Dagenham, Essex, England in 1936 and both got work in Ford's Car Factory. He came back to Ireland in 1940.
On July 30th 1949 he married my mother Ellie Donoghue and came to live in the Donoghue household. Together they had four children,Pat(myself b1950), Mary b1953. Kathleen(Kay) b1956, and Teresa b1957.. He got sick in 1995 and died on Jan 3rd 1996.
He is buried in the new cemetery in St.Finan's Bay, The Glen, Co. Kerry.He and his brother Pat are shown on a prelimenary Census taken on Friday, Sept.29th 1939 in The Jones Household,52 Review Road,Dagenham,M.B.,Essex, U.K. This census was taken to determine how many men would be available to join up for World War 2.
