Mary Hogan was born in Tullamore, Kings Co (Co Offlay) about 1819 to John Hogan, a shoemaker, and his wife Mary Daly.
In the early 1840s she had moved to Liverpool in England, where she met and married John Flynn. They migrated to Sydney, New South Wales, on the vessel Elizabeth, arriving on 31 Mar 1845.
On 26 Nov 1845 she gave birth to daughter Sabina, named for her husband's mother. They are next heard of in Woollongong, NSW, where Mary gave birth to my great grandfather, Michael James Flynn on 1 Aug 1847. The family moved to Wangaratta in North East Victoria where son, Michael James Flynn, married Catherine Bourke on 19 Jun 1872.
Mary died on 30 Jul 1877 at her home at One Mile Creek, Wangaratta. She was my great great grandmother.
