Julia O'Leary married Timothy McCarthy in Ardfert, Kerry in 1839 and they emigrated to southern Illinois near Saint Louis, in 1849. She had previously been married to Denis Leary and they had at least two daughters. We don't know her maiden name or anything else about her. She died in Kansas in 1878. Her brother Daniel O'Leary married Catherine Mulquinn in Causeway Parish in 1842. Her sister, Sarah Leary married Thomas Stack in 1835 in Ardfert. We have no record of them in the area prior to the marriages.
