Great story!
I always understood my GGrandmother was Kate MCCONNELL from Slane (as opposed to McConnon) but looking at various records all her siblings are listed as McConnon on birthcerts.
She was born in 1868 at Woodfarm which is to the east of Slane. Her parents were John McConnon and Ellen Gallagher and they were married in Oct 1863 in Slane.
Siblings are as follows:
Patrick McConnon 1864-1931.
Born Woodfarm, Slane
Married Bridget Brady 1903
1901 and 1911 Census; Newgrange
Died 1931, Slane.
Hugh aka John McConnon 1865-?
Born Woodfarm, Slane
1901 Census; Knowth
1911 Census; Newgrange
Death; ?
Eugene aka Owen
Born 1870 Woodfarm, Slane
Mary McConnon
Born 1870, twin of Eugene, no further info on either of these.
James McConnon
Born 1872 Woodfarm, Slane
No further info.
This family centred around Woodfarm, Knowth, Monknewtown just outside Slane.
Not the Mooretown or Coalpits family but I'm sure there is a link somewhere.
Not sure if this helps but I have definitely come across the name Curry a few times in relation to some other McConnon families in the general area eg. Anne MConnon married Matthew Hughes in April 1860 (Slane) and Edward Curry stood as best man.
So perhaps the link goes further than James Curry/Mary Gough.
