Hugh McAvoy

Hugh McAvoy born in Ireland about 1811. 

I have found several McAvoy families in County Down.  I am looking for relations of Hugh and thought he may have been born in County Down.

Hugh appears in the 1841 England Census his wife, Martha McAvoy (McWhirr or McWhorr) formerly Gibson. In the Census there are three Gibson children and three McAvoy children.  Hugh was living at Whitehaven, Cumberland occupation Miner age 30.

I have found no record of Hugh or Martha after the 1841 Census.  Can any one help locating Hugh and Martha?

  • Hugh McAvoy (McEvoy) born about 1811 possibly County Down. Hugh's mother may have been Mary Oneill and Father John Parish District Kilbroney.  I am looking for any siblings of Hugh.
