Michael O'Gorman was born September 22, 1843 in Caherweesheen, Kerry, Ireland. He was the 3rd of 9 children of Patrick O'Gorman & Mary O'Callaghan. He married Mary Horan in the early 1870's and immigrated to the USA settling in Bayonne, New Jersey. They had 9 children. Michael worked as a laborer and coal shoveler in Bayonne. He died on July 5, 1903 from pneumonia at his home on Cottage Street in Bayonne. Funeral services were held on July 8, 1903 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was buried at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, New Jersey on July 7, 1903.
