In January 2012, Castlebar County Mayo was confirmed as the second largest retail centre in Connacht.
It was beaten for the top spot by Galway city and came in ahead of Sligo town.
Consultants Experion carried out a survey which indicated that €284 million is spent in Castlebar every year.
The Irish Retail Centre Rankings show Castlebar to be the 7th largest retailer in Ireland.
