My grandfather James Joseph McDonald born in 1903 in Dublin came to South Africa to recover from TB. This was somewhere around 1925. My grandmother was a nursing sister, and nursed him. They married shortly after the doctors felt he was recovered in 1932. Unfortunately he died in 1934 from pneumonia his lungs being in weakened position. My grandfather was Roman Catholic.
We have established that he was living in St Josephs Place, Dorset Str, Dublin prior to emmigrating to South Africa
