Eliza Fitzgerald was the daughter of Patrick Fitzgerald a herd at Poulawack in the Burren.
She married a local herd named John Lahiff (Lahive, Flahy) in 1864 at the Carran parrish chapel.
They had eleven children and only one of these died as an infant.
The entire family emigrated to America in the late 1800's.
They settled in Newport, Rhode Island.
